Research on value system of the developing person in modern conditions

The article considers the problem of value system of the developing person. It seems relevant to study personality characteristics of adolescents, as they indicate modern development of Russian society. The system of values includes the peculiarities of self-concept, attitude to others, to the world around, and forms the basis of the worldview, life concept and lifestyle of each individual. We have used testing as an experimental method for studying value system of senior pupils, and Rokeach Value Survey (RVS) adapted by V. A. Yadov. Significant differences between the samples are identified by correlation analysis. The study has found the significant differences in the hierarchy of instrumental values. It is revealed that a different set of values as means and objectives is characteristic for the developing person depending on the social group to which the personality belongs. The investigation of modern senior pupils’ value system with the consideration of gender identity has showed that the gender factor is not determining in the hierarchy of terminal values.
