Investigation of heterozygosis on antigens of blood groups in connection with animals heterosis

The author considers the unfoundedness of S.P. Knyazev e.a. attempt to explain by artifacts the higher frequency of heterozygous genotype on systems of blood groups during of segregation following a crossing of animals and heterosis on viability («Does the increased frequency of heterozygotes on genes of pigs blood groups suggest about heterosis on viability?», Sel'skokhozyaistvennaya biologiya. 2004, 2: 38-42). The evidences are presented for a relation of heterozygosis on some loci of blood groups with pre- and post-natal viability in pigs and efficiency of heterogeneous selection on biochemical similarity. It was shown, that immunogenetic estimation of heterozygosis of certain functional systems of animals organisms needs the use of quality-checked and suitable monospecific serums and the competent organization of experiment. The data cumulative during recent five-six years in many countries and suggested about increased viability and productivity of pigs and other animal species with heterozygous certain loci of genome as compared with homozygous ones are discussed.
