Introduction. For the effective organization of the educational process and its high-quality implementation, it is necessary to constantly monitor the opinion of the teaching staff on issues related to the conditions of scientific, educational and social and labor activities. The study of the attitude of the teaching staff to the implemented educational process enables the administrative and management staff of higher education institutions to make reasonable decisions and develop measures aimed at improving the conditions of professional and labor activity of teachers and the conditions for cadets’ and students’ training. Materials and Methods. To solve the tasks related to the study of the opinion of the teaching staff on the issues of scientific, educational and social and labor activities in the departmental universities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a review of literature sources was conducted and materials were filed for conducting a questionnaire survey, which is implemented in an online format. The survey materials were processed using the methods of mathematical statistics. The results obtained are presented in a visualized format by means of diagrams for the convenience of their perception and interpretation. More than 70% of the teachers of the Ivanovo Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia took part in the survey. The questionnaire included four research areas: teachers' assessment of the distribution of working hours in the budget of the main areas of activity; presentation of professionally significant goals and assessment of their priority for teachers; presentation of organizational, psychological and professional qualities of a teacher and assessment of their significance for teachers; presentation of activities aimed at improving pedagogical skills and assessment of their significance for teachers. Results and Discussion. In the distribution of the working time of teachers, the largest part is for organizational and methodological activities. The fifth part of the working time is spent on contact work with trainees, in the form of consultations and lessons. Two-thirds of teachers spend between 30% and 70% of their working time on preparation for the lessons. Improvement of educational and methodological work is one of the most relevant and priority goals of the teaching staff. The study of the necessary organizational-personal, psychological-personal and professional-personal qualities necessary for a teacher made it possible to form his ideal image, which includes openness and sociability, respect for the colleagues and students, knowledge of the subject and passion for it. The teaching staff identifies retraining and advanced training among the most popular activities aimed at improving pedagogical skills. Conclusions.
