The study of the motivation of the students’ professional choice in the medical university

The article deals with the issue of the motivation of the professional identity of the students in the medical university. There are presented the results of the conducted study of the first-year students in Astrakhan State Medical University of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation aimed at the revealing the motives of the choice of the profession of a doctor, there are stated the factors having influence on the students’ professional choice. There is emphasized the gender aspect of the professional identity.
