The study of the feeling of happiness among people of different social categories

The article describes the results of the study which analyses the problem of the connection of happiness with people's personal characteristics directly affecting the well-being of men and women in such a difficult period of the pandemic. The sample included respondents of both sexes, of different social and family status aged from 23 to 56 years. The connection of happiness with optimism and life satisfaction is revealed. At the same time, optimism does not increase with age, which is associated with a person accumulating exhaustion from work. However, the number of children has a proportionately positive effect on the respondents' feeling of happiness. Young people are more optimistic compared to the older generation, representatives of which are more satisfied with life than young people and feel happiness stronger. Life satisfaction is expected to be more pronounced among happier respondents. When providing psychological assistance to people experiencing life difficulties, it is important to pay attention to their level of life satisfaction and optimism. The results of the conducted research can find their practical application in this field.
