Study of the Process Of Incremental Forming of a Metal-Polymer Composite Material

Free access

This paper experimentally establishes the relationship between the incremental movement of a deforming tool during incremental forming of a layered metal-polymer composite material and the deformed state, including ultimate deformations and layer thickness variations along the generatrix of a conical part. It was determined that as the incremental movement of the deforming tool decreases, the ultimate angle of incremental forming increases; the maximum value of the principal deformations increases, with the position of the maximum shifting closer to the tip of the part. These effects increase withincreasing workpiece thickness.
