Psycholinguistic experimental research into the process of perception of occasional idioms in genetically unkindred languages

The article is devoted to the problem of a contrastive study of mental perception and cultural interpretation of idioms in occasional usage by native speakers. Role of idioms' inner form and ability to undergo various transformations are covered in a thorough manner. Functions of stylistic devices that transform idioms in unkindred languages are examined.
