Study of the hardening process of coal plastic type using infra red spectroscopy technique

The IR spectroscopy technique was used to study the processes of hardening of coal plastics based on phenol-formaldehyde oligomer, urotropin, and furfurole. It is proved that binder modification by fur-furole improves physical and mechanical properties of the coal plastics due to formation of furfurol and phenol-furfurol polymers interacting with carbon binder.
