A Study of Profile of Body Image Attitudes: Opportunities and Perspectives

The article addresses the problem of a comprehensive study of attitudes toward one’s own body, taking into account cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and evaluative components. The relevance of the topic is due to the growing dissatisfaction with appearance among women under increasing sociocultural pressure and media influence. The novelty of the study lies in the approach to constructing an individual profile of body image attitude, which includes both the subjective experience of body dissatisfaction and the perceived impact of bodily experience on various areas of life. The article presents an overview of modern psychodiagnostic methods for assessing body image and attitudes toward one's body. As an example, an empirical study conducted among women in early adulthood is provided, revealing a high prevalence of dissatisfaction with the body and its individual parts among most participants, along with an analysis of individual attitude profiles. The study concludes that a comprehensive approach to diagnosis and the development of body image profiles is essential and can be effectively used for further psychological practice such as psychological counseling or psychotherapy.
