Study of S-alkenyl derivatives of 8-quino-linethiol by the chromato mass spectrometry method

Mass spectra of S-vinyl, -allyl derivatives of 8-quinolinethiol and 8-(2-propynyl, 3-butenyl, 4-pentenyl)thioquinolines were investigated for the first time. Molecular ion peak [M]+ is present in the mass spectra of all investigated compounds, except 8-(2-propynylthio)quinoline. Sulphide decomposition is typical for all compounds on both C-S bonds. The SH-elimination process leads to the formation of stable pyrrolo[3,2,1-ij]quinolinium and pyrido[3,2,1-ij]quinolinium systems.
