Study of sociocultural needs of Kemerovo region residents: sociological aspect

The article presents the results of the research of sociocultural needs of Kuzbass residents for the sustainable development and functioning of the cultural cluster in the Kemerovo region. The study is based on the method of focus groups, which were formed by taking into account different socio-demographic characteristics. The results of the work with focus groups showed contradictory attitudes of local residents both to the region itself and to its cultural environment. The image of Kuzbass as a developed industrial region is firmly entrenched in the minds of local residents, while its cultural potential is not actualized. The research revealed a low degree of importance of cultural needs among focus group participants, which is a problem, considering the development of the cultural cluster on the territory of Kuzbass.
