The research of modern methods and innovative techniques for learning English by older people

The article is devoted to the analysis of the issue of applying the methods of teaching English to the elderly. The authors give a variety of characteristics of the methods used for teaching English today and consider them in terms of ease of use and effectiveness for teaching older people. Particular attention is paid to the TPRS and Comprehensible input methods, which are marked by the world scientific and pedagogical community as the most promising and confirming their effectiveness. In the work, special attention is paid to the study, which reflects the effectiveness and expediency of applying certain approaches and techniques for teaching the global language to people of a given age category. The authors reveal the methods of conducting the study and describe its results, confirming or refuting the hypotheses put forward earlier regarding the previously described teaching methods. Based on the results obtained, the authors determine which methods will become the basis for innovative methods of teaching English to the elderly.
