Studying the strategies of translating Russian children’s literature into Chinese using the concept of translation equivalence (based on the story "That Side Where the Wind Is")

In recent years, cultural interaction between China and Russia has become increasingly intense, and therefore works of Russian children's literature are gradually conquering the Chinese market. However, the existing translations do not convey enough linguocultural information to meet the needs of Chinese readers. As an example, this article considers the story "That Side Where the Wind" by Vladislav Krapivin in Chinese translation. The analysis was conducted using the concept of translation equivalence. The study touches upon the language style of translation, the method of narration and the transmission of cultural context. It was found that the strategy of combined translation increases the coherence and expressiveness of the text, the strategy of contextual equivalent allows to accurately convey the emotional and semantic intent of the original, while the strategy of cultural equivalent effectively conveys cultural specificity to readers. The practical significance of the article lies in the fact that its results can be used in the process of translating Russian-language children's literature into Chinese. The article opens up new prospects for further Chinese-Russian literary exchange. According to Mundy's point of view, which was expressed in the work "Introduction to Translation Studies: Theories and Applications", effective translation strategies allow to better express the cultural context, as a result of which the translated source becomes an effective bridge between different cultures.
