Research work of teachers in Winnetka: the selection of educational content on the history, geography and civics (the first third of the XX century)

What notable places, persons and events should be presented to children in the public school curriculum? A group of teachers from Winnetka schools led by Carlton Washburn (1889-1968), author of the original teaching model Winnetka-plan, for two years conducted a research work on the selection of the education content in history, geography and civics on the materials of 18 popular newspapers and magazines.
