The results of the analysis of the expression of CCNB1 and TERT genes in precancerous diseases and cervical cancer are presented. Cyclin B1 is one of the main regulators of cell proliferation, the activity of the cyclin B1-Cdk1 complex controls cells mitosis, in particular, G2/M transition. Functions of the catalytic subunit of telomerase TERT include not only telomeres’ elongation, but also RNA synthesis on the RNA matrix, the enhancement of cell proliferation, suppression of apoptosis, regulation of DNA damage response and the extension of the cell life span. Studying of the expression changes of CCNB1 and TERT genes during precancerous processes may lead to a deeper understanding of carcinogenesis and might allow us to assess the diagnostic potential of CCNB1 and TERT in the differential diagnosis of pathological processes in the cervix.
