The purpose of the article is to provide an overview of Chinese studies over the past 30 years on the formation and development of Russian semiotics. The interest of Chinese scientists in Russian semiotic traditions is highlighted in line with three main directions. The first is devoted to the history of the formation of semiotics, the second the formation of its fundamental foundations, the third the theories of Russian scientists. At the initial stages of the study, the Chinese authors turned to the periodization of the history of Russian semiotics, highlighting from 3 to 6 stages of its formation and development. Later, they supplemented the studies of the stadiality of Russian semiotics with an analysis of the theoretical works of its famous representatives: P.A. Florensky, E.N. Trubetskoy, P.G. Bogatyrev, R.O. Yakobson, M.M. Bakhtin, B.A. Uspensky, Yu.M. Lotman, Vyach.Vs. Ivanov et al. At the same time, Chinese scientists note that the study of the concepts of Russian scientists is uneven, the greatest attention is paid to the works of M.M. Bakhtin and Yu.M. Lotman, the research of modern semiotics scientists has practically not been studied. In general, Chinese scientists agree that Russian semiotics, having undergone a number of evolutionary processes, is mainly developing in line with the world semiotics of the 20th century, moving from structuralism to generativism, then to functionalism and cog-nitivism. In addition, Chinese scientists are showing increased interest in the methods and approaches used by Russian semiotics. The author of the article concludes that the analysis of Chinese works on the study of Russian semiotics reveals issues that have not yet been covered in this area, which indicates the prospects for research.
