The author considers the process of increasing the level of historical literacy as a key guideline of state policy in the field of historical education and notes that its high level contributes to the formation of an independent historical worldview among citizens and a deep understanding of history as a whole. The author is confident that the effectiveness of teaching history can be improved by introducing innovative gaming technologies into the educational process.
