In the context of analyzing the lobbying groups influence on the American political arena, the institution of gun lobbying, represented by the National Rifle Association (NSA), deserves special attention. Within the two-hundred-year history of the United States political system, this phenomenon has taken its shape relatively recently in the 1970s, indicating its relative youth. Over the past decades, the NRA has undergone significant evolution, transforming itself from a shooting sports organization into one of the key lobbying and political actors on Capitol Hill, able to influence the shaping of the legislative agenda.
