History of the ancient roman altar in the Tashkent collection of Nicholai Konstantinovich Romanov

The article describes the ancient Roman altar with the dedication in Latin to the manes, souls of the dead, previously kept in the collection of Grand Duke Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov and now stored in the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan. The external description of the exhibit is made and decoding of the inscriptions in Latin is given. The attempt has been made to trace the history of the artifact from the moment of its discovery in Italy and sending to the place of the exile of Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov to the transfer to the current fund holder for storage.
