General conclusions were made by comparing the pedagogical concepts of “regional component” and “local history studies”, analyzing the “products” of participation by the subjects of the Russian Federation in creating history textbooks at the end of the 20th and the first quarter of the 21st century, and testing an innovative educational and methodological complex on the History of the Russian Far East for middle and high school students. The reasons and implications of the “2024-2025 project” are formulated in the context of school history education system reforms and the political-pedagogical reality.
