History of pedagogy in Russia in the XVII-early XVIII centuries: in the context of understanding the contribution of its prominent representatives

The article is devoted to the analysis of certain aspects of the history of Russian pedagogical thought, based on the achievements of world civilization and taking into account the importance of educating the Russian population in the spirit of recognizing its originality and special civilizational path. Identifying the most significant achievements in the pedagogical field of Simeon Polotsk, Sylvester Medvedev and Karion (Istomin), the author draws special attention to the need for a more in-depth study of the pedagogical heritage of these founders of the Russian pedagogical school, which is of enduring importance for the training of civil servants.
