The history of pedagogy looks at the boundless panorama of human history, it brings to light and analyses everything that in one way or another is related to how people assimilate culture and modes of behavior, semiotic and communicative systems, how they fit into social relationships and interactions, how they acquire social roles, develop their own potential, undergo changes and transformations, acquire new traits and qualities. All these processes are interfused with pedagogical efforts, they all may be analyzed from the perspective of pedagogical expediency and, also, their significance for understanding education, specificity of its conceptualization and development, for understanding its nature, mechanisms, goals, organizational ways and means, achievements and failures of teaching and upbringing.
