Local government is one of the branches of government that creates the image of the government as a whole, the importance of its existence is determined by the large area of the country and the need to take into account the interests of all citizens. The article presents the history of the development of local government, the concept and structure, as well as the functions of the local government system, considered in two aspects, which give a complete picture of the purpose.
