History of development of the domestic criminal legislation on responsibility for abuse of the official authority

The article describes the history of the development of domestic criminal legislation on liability for abuse of office. Analyzes the history of the development of the rules on criminal responsibility for abuse of authority in domestic criminal law. In pre-revolutionary history, there are four sources that were aimed at combating official misconduct and abuse. These include the Code of Law of Ivan IV 1497, the Council Code of 1649, the Code of Criminal and Correctional Penalties of 1845 and the Code of 1903.
