History of the Development of Juvenile Affairs Units (on the 90th anniversary of the service’s establishment)

This article is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of juvenile affairs units. Based on an analysis of regulatory legal acts, the article provides a brief historical overview of the development of juvenile police units. It highlights the key stages in the unit's development, as well as their significance in each period of our country's history. The prerequisites and reasons for the creation of a separate unit within the internal affairs agencies are comprehensively examined, as well as the emergence of temporary detention centers for juvenile offenders within their system.
