History of wahhabism in Kazakhstan

The article is devoted to the history of Wahhabism in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The analysis of legal literature and practice of law enforcement activity in Kazakhstan let the author identify the stages of the emergence of Wahhabism in the Republic, to examine the trends in the spread of this phenomenon. As a solution to the problem, alongside with taking organizational, legal, social, economic and other measures, the author notes the need to form an ideology that would correspond to the strategy of development of Kazakhstan, aimed at building a secular, legal and democratic state.
