In the context of globalization and the development of information technologies, traditional approaches to archival education are becoming obsolete, necessitating a revision of the methodology for training specialists. The relevance of the study is driven by the rapid digital transformation of archival science, which requires the modernization of educational programs and the development of new professional competencies for future archivists. The author conducted a historical and pedagogical analysis of the digitalization of archival education in Russia, identifying key problems and prospects for its development in line with modern technological and pedagogical trends. Research methods included historical-pedagogical analysis, comparative method, and historical-pedagogical modeling. Challenges in archival education were identified, including technological lag, a shortage of qualified personnel, and the absence of unified standards. Prospects for the archival education development were outlined within the context of modern technological and pedagogical trends. The novelty of the study lies in the systematization of key directions for the digital transformation of archival education: document digitization, the integration of innovative educational technologies, and the automation of archival processes. Proposed measures include the integration of digital competencies into curricula, the promotion of interdisciplinary approaches, and the creation of a digital archival ecosystem. The findings can foster the development of a competitive system for training archivists adapted to the challenges of the digital age, ensuring the preservation of Russia’s historical and cultural heritage under new technological conditions.
