Historical and legal aspects of development of normative regulation in the sphere of quality and safety of food products sold in Russia (X - early XX centuries)

The problem of development of normative regulation of social relations in selling food products is considered in the article. The analysis of the legislation of Ancient Rus (Early Russia), the Russian centralized state, the Russian Empire, regulating relations in the sphere of trade, including food trade, is carried out. The norms determining the order of trade in food products, the rules of supervision over the fulfillment of requirements for trade, the order of protection of the rights of sellers are revealed, the historical features of the formation of the institution under study are demonstrated. Gradual development of the rules of food trade in our country was formed by the beginning of the XX century. In the same period there was an understanding of the need to develop and adopt a special law regulating the safety and quality of food products.
