В этом юбилейном сборнике, посвященном 75-летию Моше Шачаку (Moshe Shachak) прослеживается история развития инженерии экосистем. Концепция пришла из [пустыни] Негев, вышла далеко за пределы пустыни и имеет большие перспективы на будущее. Моше играл и, несомненно, продолжит играть в ней центральную роль. В честь Моше, его жены Далии (Dahlia), а также их детей и внуков, я свободно применяю метафору от детства к взрослой жизни для описания развития концепции инженерии экосистем. Я переплетаю Моше с прошлым, настоящим и будущим концепции, рассказывая о науке и о науковедении.
