The personality of Nikolai Mikhailovich Karamzin is significant in Russian history and culture. He was a reformer of Russian literature, state historiographer, translator, and publisher. His works were frequently reprinted and were included in the school programs of extracurricular reading. Of course, that in each library, and even more large, the works of N.M.Karamzin are stored. The reserves of Samara Regional Universal Research Library (SOUNB) have publications related to the name of N.M.Karamzin and characterize his many-sided activity. Some of them are classified as a "book monument". According to the order of Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation dated May 3, 2011 No. 429 "About approval of the procedures for classifying documents to book monuments, registration of book monuments, maintaining the register of book monuments," chronological criteria for attribution to single book monuments are established: all manuscript books until the XIX century; all copies of domestic publications until 1830 inclusive; all copies of foreign publications until 1700 inclusive. The author's lifetime editions are of special value. The article describes the characteristics of some publications that have cultural and historical value.
