The object of the research was the cultural sunflower Helianthus annuus L. The purpose of the work was to obtain experimental data on the genetic variability of the total content of tocopherols (TCT) in the seeds of the characteristic sunflower collection. TCT in seed kernels and oil were determined on a Specol- II photocolorimeter when staining the hexane fraction of unsaponifiables with Emmer-Engel reagent. After four generations of individual disruptive selection, we detached lines I5 Imi-1 and Imi-2 with an increased (410 and 341 mg/kg) and lines KG 27 and VK 561 with a reduced (178 and 189 mg/kg) content of to-copherols in the seed kernels. The parameters of TCT variation in seeds (seed kernels) of 35 inbred heads of nine lines were: average value - 211 mg per kg, limits from 110 to 337 mg per kg with CV - 29%. For the lines on average, the variability of the trait was from III mg per kg for VK 286 to 286 mg per kg for imi-R1, which indicates significant differences by 2...
