Variability of fatty acid composition of oil in cotton samples from VIR collection

Бесплатный доступ

Two-factor analysis of variance of fatty-acid composition for 25 cotton samples for two years showed a significant influence of weather conditions on the variability of this parameter. Only for oleic acid there were no important differences between the years. Significant differences between the samples were noted only in the content of unsaturated acids - linoleic, oleic and palmitoleic. Correlation analysis revealed differences in the structure and strength of correlations between years. Milder conditions during seed maturation reduced the correlations. The strongest significant relationship observed in both variants was a negative one between the content of palmitic and linoleic acids (r = -0.69, r = -0.57).
