The study on the psychoemotional and neurological status and the condition of lipid peroxidation - antioxidant system of patients having radicular syndromes of lumbar osteochondrosis caused by herniated intervertebral disc has been conducted in the diagnostic and treatment center “SONAR”, LLC. There were 20 patients who undergone traditional treatment (control group) and 43 patients who received treatment using ultrasound-controlled epidural blocks (comparison group). The group of apparently healthy people comprised of 20 people of the same age. During the treatment using ultrasound-controlled epidural blocks the pain syndrome was stopped, the dynamics of psychoemotional and neurological status was improved. Moreover, patients in the comparison group had more significant regression of imbalance in the lipid peroxidation - antioxidant system than patients of the control group.
