The аrticle is devoted to the theоretical study of the problem of overcoming social and psychological difficulties in learning a foreign language at universities of culture and art. The creative approach in teaching a foreign language and its main aspects, types of activities are considered. The аrticle highlights psychological and social difficulties in the situation of real academic communication in a foreign language, as well as the causes of their occurrence. The objective and subjective difficulties associated with the procces of teaching. The concept of a psychological barrier is considered as a special mental state, manifested as inadequate passivity, and creating an obstacle to the performance of certain actions. The causes of the psychological barrier, as well as strategies for overcoming psychological barriers, are determined. The authors who study in detail the aspects of the theory of strategy for overcoming psychological barriers are highlighted. The article analyzes integrative learning technology as the main direction of overcoming difficulties in learning a foreign language at universities of culture and аrt. Effective ways to overcome barriers in learning a foreign language at universities of culture and art are highlighted. Certain techniques and methods of overcoming language barriers are also considered.
