It is important to determine the degree of harmlessness and safety of the created drug for the animal's body. When studying a new antimicrobial medicinal product based on quaternary phosphonium salt, studies of its local irritant effect on the skin and mucous membranes were conducted. The studies were conducted on laboratory rats and laboratory rabbits in the vivarium of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Radiobiology of the Kazan State Medical University. The methods of skin applications and conjunctival testing were used for the study. The follow-up period was 14 days after a single application of the drug based on quaternary phosphonium salt. As a result of the study, a weakly expressed irritating effect of the drug based on quaternary phosphonium salt on the mucous membranes of the eyes of laboratory animals and the absence of an irritating effect of the studied drug on the skin was established.
