The study of self-relationship and self-evaluation of criminal drug addicts

This article presents the main results of the study of self-relationship among criminal drug addicts of different age groups (adolescents and adults). These groups include criminal drug addicts, criminals without involvement in substance abuse, adolescents and adults that are characterized by normative behavior. The study identifies the specific features of self-relationship and self-evaluation of drug addicts, namely: lack of respect for themselves, lack of confidence in their abilities, distrust towards their decisions, weakness of self-control mechanisms, low volitional self-control, distrust towards others, failure of themselves, poor understanding of themselves and their behavioral motives. Moreover, the survey reveals the different trends in personality structure of criminal drug addicts that demonstrate the intrapersonal conflict among the research participants. The article outlines several targets of psychological assistance to criminal drug addicts and rehabilitation of their personality.
