Study of snow as indicator of environmental pollution and forest vegetation of Moscow region

The degree of air pollution depends on the quantity of emissions and their chemical composition. Deposited on the earth’s surface under the influence of gravity or flushed out of the atmosphere by precipitation, the chemicals are absorbed snow and subsequently migrate to the neighboring environment: water and soil. The concentration of chemical toxicants in the snow cover is a good indicator of the degree of pollution of the atmosphere by industrial emissions.
