During the COVID-19 pandemic, a mask regime was introduced in many countries to combat the spread of infection. The execution of government orders on the observance of anti-epidemic measures is a socially significant behavior that determines the safety for the health of other citizens. The mandatory wearing of masks in public places was perceived ambiguously by the population. Protest actions took place in a number of countries, up to 25-30 % of the population did not observe the mask regime. The purpose of the study was to study the factors influencing the observance of the mask regime. Conducted a survey of 875 residents of Moscow made it possible to identify the factors of adherence to the use of masks: faith in their effectiveness, positive attitude towards other preventive measures, including vaccination, female gender, higher education, including medical education, the use and trust of official media. The identified factors, using the example of compliance with the mask regime, allow for targeted information propaganda among the population when there is a need for anti-epidemic measures.
