The purpose of the study was to assess the subchronic toxicity of the veterinary drug Mastigard in cows. The results of the study showed that the use of the test drug at a time and in doses exceeding those recommended by the instructions can have a moderate, reversible local irritant effect on the udder parenchyma, manifested in an increase in the number of somatic cells. However, it is worth noting that these changes are reversible after stopping the drug. It is worth noting that long-term use of a therapeutic dose of Mastigard does not cause a local irritant effect on the mammary gland, and also does not have a systemic effect on the animal’s body.
