The article analyzes the conceptual foundations of the study of generative problems as part of existential-phenomenological trends of philosophical thought. The relevance of the topic is due to the need for philosophical generalizations of intergenerational communication analysis in modern society, faced with the rupture of cultural traditions and the need to find the basis for innovative development. It is shown that existential-phenomenological thinkers view generations as isolated selves or lifeworlds, and generative relations as events arising from the interaction of the Self and the Other (Alien). The epistemological potential of existential and phenomenological philosophy for revealing the foundations of intergenerational dialogue is demonstrated. It is revealed that it is the semantic continuity of cultural life, which allows developing one's universe within the generative continuity and preserve the cultural experience of the past in its typical features. This not only establishes generative communication, but also contributes to the awareness of the generational community, forming its own existential project in the diachronic relationship of past and future generations.
