The phenomenon of consubstantiality in ESP (based on the "welding" terminology)

The article is aimed at considering the phenomenon of consubstantiality in the English "welding" terminology from a diachronic point of view. The prototerms’ genesis of the subject area under study and the change in their semantics is noted due to modern dictionaries in comparison with the period of their first fixation in literary sources. The semantic connection between colloquial vocabulary and the corresponding consubstantial terms is traced.
