Language history of the family (based on the texts of the stories of descendants of Russian immigrants in the Chinese three rivers region)

The article analyzes the typical language history of the families of the Russian immigrants' descendants in the so-called Three rivers region (Sanhe, the District of Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, the People's Republic of China), in the twentieth century, describes their language competence. The material of the study was the records of the speech of the immigrants' descendants from Russia, made in 2017-18 during research expeditions. The study of the speech of informants allowed to identify high level of Russian language preservation and to trace the dynamics of linguistic competence of representatives of different generations of immigrants from Russia to the Chinese Three rivers region. Descendants of Russians living in the Three rivers region have different levels of language competence. The degree of preservation of the Russian language to a great extent depends on the generation to which the descendants of immigrants belong.
