Linguistic realization of the messianic model in Starcraft: Brood War

The paper examines the feasibility of a practical implementation of the messianic model in the context of computer games. It is common knowledge that computer game plots reflect motifs from other sources. These can be literary works, historical facts, biographies of prominent individuals. Very often game designers use them because they are universal and easily recognizable. Thus, the allusive nature of such models allows not only an easier perception of events, but also the opportunity to empathize with the characters and experience certain emotions along with them. The author draws a parallel between the gospel plot of Christ's redemption sacrifice and its realization in the text of the computer game Starcraft: Brood War. The similarities and important differences that make the game story unique are outlined. It is concluded that the messianic model is in demand.
