Eduard Abramyan and his 24 preludes for piano. Characteristic and analyses of stylistic features

In this article, the author analyzes the creative career of Edward Aslanovich Abramyan, one of the leading representatives of Armenian classical music. The author also provides an analysis for Abramyan’s 24 Preludes for Piano series, using examples of stylistic features. Through this analysis of Edward Abramyan’s creative legacy, the author discovers the unique qualities of the 24 Preludes for Piano series and its dominant position within the composer’s entire career. During this analysis, the author groups the preludes by their conceptual features, thus revealing their art, their colorful and national aspects, and comes to a conclusion about the significant aspects of personality and identity within the preludes. The author comes to this conclusion while drawing parallels between the preludes and the folk music of Armenia, and considering the characteristic features of the piano style by giving examples of texture saturation.
