The effectiveness of the discipline "Basics of media education" in the formation of media literacy among bachelor students of pedagogical specialties

Based on the experience of foreign and domestic media educators, the author of the article of article reveals the features of the new training course «Foundations of Media Education». This discipline is introduced into the curriculum for the preparation of Russian language and literature teachers at the Orenburg State University (2018-2019). It is designed to introduce bachelors to the pedagogical potential of media education and to become an essential tool for the future teacher, whose activities are aimed not only at transferring knowledge within the framework of his subject, but also forming all sorts of versatile skills in the media education field.
