This research focused on the effectiveness of gelofusin, voluven, albumin and 0.9 % NaCl solution to be used as ingredients of the priming solution for a heart lung machine (HLM) and when performing acute normovolemic hemodilution (AHD). 77 patients with ischemic heart disease were involved in the research. Dynamics of colloid-oncotic pressure (COP), oxygenation index (OI), concentration of free fatty acids, malonic dialdehyde (MD), catalase and hepatocuprein was studied. It was found out that the use of voluven and gelofusin leads to a higher level of COP observed at the stages following AHD, ECC (extracorporeal circulation) start and cardioplegia. No significant inter-group differences in OI dynamics were observed. The content of MD on the 1st postoperative day tended to be significantly greater in relation with the gelofusin group (р
