The effectiveness and tolerability of oral chemotherapy at breast cancer

For the past 10 years there has been a change in attitude towards therapy of disseminated breast cancer, which began to be perceived as chronic illness. For the second and third lines of chemotherapy can be used oral chemotherapy with capecitabine and vinorelbine. Oral chemotherapy is very effective and allows you to keep a satisfactory quality of life for patients. We analyzed the results of oral chemotherapy of disseminated breast cancer with capecitabine and vinorelbine. Partial responserate was 33.8% in patients treated with capecitabine. Oral chemotherapy had a favorable toxicity profile. Oral chemotherapy may be carried out on an outpatient basis, requires minimal maintenance.
