The study describes the practical experience of developing fine motor skills of children in the art classes using the Sand Art technique. Numerous studies of physiologists, psychologists, and teachers note that lethargy and fatigue of the small muscles of the hands in preschool children on the threshold of schooling, which negatively affect the formation of graphic writing skills, the pace of the lesson and, as a result, leads to depletion of the child’s emotional-energy system, induces the need for additional attention to it from the teacher. One of the methods for solving this problem will be the usage of sand painting, or Sand Art, in the educational process among other techniques of visual activity . The author focuses on the use of sand painting in the conditions of additional education in a preschool institution, which, in his opinion, will expand the pedagogical potential of art classes. Moreover, the author emphasizes that Sand Art, being an available technology to preschool children, can be effectively used in correctional work as a meditative technique, as it liberates the emotional sphere of a person.
