The effectiveness of different lines combinations of Holstein and black-and-white cows

The article presents the analysis of various lines combinations in the breeding farms of the Tatarstan Republic for the breeding of Holstein and black-and-white cattle. The most effective selection options have been identified. It has been established that the use of Sovering and Ideal bulls with an intraline and interline combination gives the best results in terms of milk productivity, while the use of Chiefstein and Gouverneur bulls in most cases reduces the productivity of the herd. Therefore, it can be assumed that the bulls of the Sovering and Ideal lines can be effectively used in various populations of dairy cattle.
