The experiment of introducing the course «Media competence foundations» into basic educational program of training managers at a higher school is described. The efficiency of the course from the point of forming adequate media preferences, media knowledge, media skills, media abilities and from the point of orientation in the field of mass media and communication, especially in the field of business press is proved.
